About us

 Welcome!

Pastor Buddy Burke, the heart and vision behind Spirit of Life Church in Chipley, FL. Pastor Buddy is dedicated to one thing: growing the church for God’s Kingdom.

His mission is to lead a "First Century Church for a last century world"—returning to the authentic, powerful roots of faith to meet the needs of our modern lives. At Spirit of Life, we are guided by the promise of Romans 8:2:

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

Come experience the freedom and growth that comes from a life led by the Spirit. We can’t wait to welcome you!

The Scripture Inspired.

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, providing the foundation for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

The One True God.

We believe there is one true and eternal God, Creator of all things, who has reveled Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons in one divine nature.

The Deity of the Lord

Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ the man is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, performed miracles, dies as the sacrifice for all sin, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.

The Fall of Mankind.

We believe that humanity was created in God's image, but through rebellion in sin, fell from fellowship with Him, bringing both physical and spiritual death to all people.

The Salvation of Mankind.

We believe that salvation is God's gift of grace, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and received only through repentance and faith, by which the believer is spiritually baptized into Jesus Christ and is "born again" and is freed from the law of sin and death.

The Ordinances of the Church.

We believe that Water Baptism by immersion and the Communion are the only ordinances established by Christ in that water baptism is a public declaration of a believer's new life in Christ, while Communion is a testimony of Christ's sacrifice and anticipates His return but that observances of these ordinances does not provide salvation.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that every born-again believer is eligible for and should seek baptism in the Holy Spirit, a distinct experience that empowers the believer for effective and bold witness though the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Initial Physical Evidence of Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

We believe that when a believer receives baptism in the Holy Spirit it is always accompanied by that believer supernaturally speaking in a language unknown to that believer, and that this is the initial evidence that the believer has been baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Sanctification.

We believe sanctification is a setting apart by God for holy living that occurs immediately at salvation and is also an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer enabling them to grow more Christlike as a witness to the world.

Divine Healing

We believe that divine healing is provided through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ as a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit and is available through faith in Jesus Christ and by prayer.

The Church and Its Mission.

We believe the Church is the spiritual body of Christ, established by Him, called out and empowered by the Holy Spirit to worship God, to proclaim the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, to care for those in need, to build up believers of the faith.

The Ministries.

We believe that God alone calls men and women for various ministries within the Church, and who the Holy Spirit equips them to lead the church in evangelism, in discipleship, in worship, in compassionate service, and in holy example.
